Arthur H. Fricke

Arthur H. Fricke, 97, passed away on January 28, 2017 at Mission Hospital.

Mr. Fricke was born in Westbury, NY on April 28, 1919, and grew up in Hicksville, NY. He served five years in the Army during WWII, and later worked for the New York Telephone Company for forty-two years before retiring to Western North Carolina and to live in Fairview until moving to Givens Highland Farms in 2001.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife of 61 years, Lucille; son, Wayne; and brother, Henry. 

He is survived by his wife, Joan; daughters, Sandra Simkin  (Mike) of Trumansburg, NY,  Gayle Randgaard (Ross) of Gallatin, TN, Lynn Zazzi, and Carol Dituro (Mike) of East Northport, NY; brother, Walter of Bellmore, NY; ten grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are three step sons, Mark Kline of Rochester, VT, Paul Kline (Jean Ann) of Marshall, NC, and Tim Kline (Jodi) of Lake Ridge, VA; and three step-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 1 at 2:00 PM, at Givens Highland Farms in Black Mountain. Interment will be held at a later date at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
