Betty Irene (Ledford) Sexton

Betty Irene Ledford Sexton, 84, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at John F. Keever Solace Center. She was born on June 30, 1933 in Buncombe County, NC to the late Charles Elzy Ledford and Rebecca Willis Ledford. She was the widow of the late Charles S. Sexton who died on August 5, 2015. Betty was a homemaker and of the Christian faith. She is preceded in death by her daughters, Pamela Gail Briggs and Becky Cooke; as well as her sister and three brothers. Betty is survived by her children; son Eddie Worley; daughters Judy Francine, Betty Jean Isaacs, Carolyn, Kathy Worley, Jennifer Cooke and Della Charlene Nix of Old Fort, NC; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Penland Family Funeral Home on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 4:00pm. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Rev. Owen Isaacs will officiate the service.
Memorials may be sent to Penland Family Funeral Home in Swannanoa to help with the funeral expenses.
