Carolyn Ann Scott Hensley, 68, a native of Buncombe County and Fletcher resident, formerly of Leicester for 35 years, passed from this life into eternity April 28, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.

Carolyn was born July 3, 1948, the youngest of three children, to the late Allen Scott and Violet Hipps Scott. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Aileen Jones.

Carolyn was a member of Fletcher First Baptist Church, and a member of the Benevolent Committee with the church. She loved to read, crochet, and collect carousels. Carolyn attended Hall Fletcher Junior High, and graduated from Lee Edwards High School in 1966.

Survivors include her husband, Anthony "Tony" Hensley of the home; son, Brent Hensley of Arden; and a brother, Woody Scott (Rebecca) of Fairview.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 - 11 AM Tuesday, May 2 at Fletcher First Baptist Church, 5 Cane Creek Rd, Fletcher, NC 28732. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM at Fletcher First Baptist Church with the Revs. Roy Waldrup and Charles Phillips officiating.
