David Allen Tickle

David Allen Tickle, 75, passed away on October 17, 2017 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center following a brief illness.

He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Nancy Ledbetter Tickle; his sons, Samuel and Travis (wife, Jessica), three grandchildren: Rachel, Kate and Brett and his devoted dog, Buddy. He is also survived by his brother, Donnie (Sue) and sister, Faye Dean, two nieces, a nephew and several great-nieces and nephews.

David was born and raised in Mebane, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Hazelene Patton Tickle.

He met his wife, Nancy Ledbetter at East Carolina University. They married on December 13, 1963. Between 1963 and 1969 they lived in Maryland and Delaware. In 1969, David and Nancy moved to Fairview, NC, where he became the proprietor of Fairview Supply Company, known by many as Tickles.

David loved his family, fishing, crabbing and visiting with friends.

A celebration of David's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery immediately following the service. The family invites you to join them for a "pot luck" lunch (meat will be furnished) in the church fellowship hall to visit and recount how David impacted their lives.
