Joyce Gail (Wilson) Blazer

Joyce Wilson Blazer, 78, of Candler, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018 at Mission Hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She was the daughter of the late David and Reva Gosset Wilson. Joyce was a member of Starnes Cove Baptist Church where she taught as a pre-school Sunday school teacher for 35 years. She loved the children and they loved her.
Joyce is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jack E. Blazer; daughter, Jacqueline Gasperson and husband, Danny; son, Michael; friend, Lynn Frazier; two sisters, Barbara Alexander and Betty Wright (Harold); granddaughters, Rebecca Fischer (Taylor), Savannah Blazer (fiancé Sean), and Sara Blazer; grandson, Josh Gasperson and friend Mackenzie; two special great grandsons, Nathan and Hudson Fischer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Starnes Cove Baptist Church on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 7:00pm with the Reverends, Charlie Sams and Danny Gasperson presiding. Music will be provided by Billy Woody. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children's Dept. at Starnes Cove Baptist Church. Penland Family Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Blazer family.
