Joyce Ann (Pressley) Lamb

Joyce Ann Pressley Lamb, 77, of Swannanoa, NC passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 at Asheville Health Care Center in Swannanoa. She was born on July 1, 1940 in Buncombe County to the late Lawrence Hubert and Ida Chandler Pressley. Joyce worked as a clerk at a textile manufacturing company and was a member of Grovestone Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her brother, Little Eugene Pressley; and sisters, Revonda Brockmeier and Patsy Jackson. Joyce is survived by her husband of 59 years, Rev. James R. Lamb; daughter, Melody Lamb Dodge (David) of Candler; granddaughter, Stephanie Dodge of Candler; grandson, Cody Dodge (Becky) of Travelers Rest, SC; great grandchildren, Carolina, Caiden, Elijah, Kyran and Eden; special nephew, Terry Brockmeier, his wife Cheryl and daughter Katilyn; sisters, Alice Stewart of Thompson's Station, TN, June Pressley of Swannanoa, Barbara Wright (Bill) of Swannanoa, and Janice Wilson of Marshall.
A funeral service will be held at 3pm on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Swannanoa First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1pm-3pm at the church. Officiating the service will be Rev. Michael Long, Rev. Charlie Sams and Rev. Mark Lawing. The burial will be at 10am on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Mountain View Memorial Park in Black Mountain, NC. Memorials may be made to Grove Stone Baptist Church Local Missions at 1568 Grove Stone Road, Black Mountain, NC 28711 or to Oteen Baptist Church at 37 Oteen Church Road, Asheville, NC 28805.
