Kathleen Laura Bailey Cregger

Kathleen "Kathie" Laura Bailey Cregger, 94, of Raleigh, NC passed away on September 18, 2017 at Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community in Raleigh, NC. Kathleen was born in Nashville, TN to the late Harry S. and Eulalia M. Bailey and grew up in Los Angeles, CA. A graduate of George Washington High School, in 1939 she met the love of her life, Floyd "Mert" Cregger. They were married on March 11, 1942 and in 2016, prior to his passing, they celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Cregger, sister, Virginia Mills, and brothers Maurice and Robert Bailey. She is survived by her son Peter (Jane) Cregger of Raleigh, NC, daughter Nancy (William) Langford of Hastings, NE, and daughter, Carolyn Vaughan of Menifee, CA; grandsons, Dennis, Donald (Brandi) and Tom Coggia, William (Barbara) Langford, Joseph (Cindy) Vaughan, James (Elizabeth) Cregger, and granddaughters, Susan Langford, Sarah Vaughan, Marian and Julie Cregger; 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to acknowledge the grace with which care was provided to Kathie by the nurses, CNAs and staff of both Givens-Highland Farms, Black Mountain and Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community, Raleigh. An interment service to be held at a later date at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
