Lola Marie (Foster) Rowell

Lola Marie Foster Rowell, 88 of Spring Creek in Madison County passed away March 12^th, 2013 at Asheville Health Care Center in Swannanoa, NC where she resided for the past year. She was born October 24^th, 1924 in Hot Springs, NC.

She was the daughter of the late William Franklin and Martha Jane Foster of Hildebran, NC. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Martha Jane “Janie” Roberts (Robert) and Donna Lynne of Blacksburg, SC, two brothers, Lee Foster (Nell) and James Foster (Brenda) of Hildebran, NC, two sisters, Dorothy Bridges of Hildebran, NC and Billie Jean Lael of Panama City, FL.

She is survived by a sister, Mary Ann Smith (John) of Gainesville, GA, three sons, Steven Len Stinson (Darlene) of Black Mountain, NC, David Benfield (Teressa) of Hudson, NC, and Eddie Benfield (Kay) of Granite Falls, NC, ten grandchildren, Stacey Stinson, Robert Stinson, Stephen Rice, Chris Lynn, Evan Roberts, Jarred Roberts, Dawn, Shelley, Edward and Crystal and eighteen great-grandchildren, including Jayna Marie Stinson Grape.

Lola was a member of Flats of Spring Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Madison County. She also attended Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in Swannanoa. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a dear friend to many, including her pets.

A memorial service e will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 15^th, 2013 at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in Swannanoa, with Rev. Frank Cantrell and Rev. David Jones officiating. A meal will be served in the fellowship hall following the service.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Flats of Spring Creek Baptist Church or Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in memory of Lola Rowell.
