Marjorie Karen (Stone) Pressley

Marjorie “Karen” Stone Pressley of Swannanoa, died Friday, July 14, 2017 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville at the age of 68.

A native of Buncombe County, Karen was born January 22, 1949 to the late Artie and Willa Belle Anderson Stone. She attended Owen High School. Karen enjoyed shopping, especially for clothing, and loved painting her nails. She also liked to collect items with owl themes. Karen was a member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 33 years, David Ivan Pressley; children, Daron Slone of Black Mountain, Sharon Giles (James) of Leicester, Kelley Cooke (Shane) of Smithfield, VA, and David Pressley of Hendersonville; ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; siblings, Bobby Stone, Phillip Stone, and Teresa Stone all of Black Mountain; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Monday, July 17 at 2:00 PM at Penland Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Jones and Pastor Jimmy Page officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour before the service.
