Michael Masters, 26, died unexpectedly due to an accident Sunday, June 4th, 2017.
Michael was a native of Buncombe County and a graduate of Charles D. Owen High School, class of 2008. He loved to go hunting and fishing, and also raising his chickens. Michael was an assembly operator for Continental Automotive, and worked part-time at his family's businesses, Masters Lawn Service and for Ward's Carp Lake. He was a member of New Hope Community Church of Asheville.
Michael is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Robert & Faye Ward, and Sam & Helen Sharpe; grandparents, Bobby & Faye Ward; uncle, Michael Ward; and cousin, Jessica Leighann Haynie.
Michael leaves behind his loving mama, Trisha Ward Masters, and his daddy, Bruce Masters; grandparents, Buster and Anniemay Masters; brothers, Chris, Adam, Stevie, Mike, and Blake Masters; sister, Brooke Masters; aunt, and someone he loved and thought of as his second mama, Angie Ward Avila (Paul); numerous cousins, especially, Bubba and JR Haynie, Tracey and Calvin Ward; great-aunts and great-uncles, Gail and Gene Roberts, Jeff and Cookie Ward, Steve and Pam Ward, Carolyn and Ronnie Haynes; and many friends with whom he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 10 at 1:00 PM at Penland Family Funeral Home Chapel in Swannanoa with Pastor Tim Earwood officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM before the service.
