Irene (Mimi) 91, passed at home January 7, 2017. Born in Nevada, MO, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Beulah Bulmer. She was preceded in death by husband, Richard Rooks; son, Leslie Rooks; and sisters, Wanda Hall and Nadine Wright. She is survived by daughter, Susan Buckner (Tommy) whom she made her home with and was her caregiver; son, Gary Rooks (Sherita) of Kansas City, MO; and numerous grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren.

After leaving Nevada, MO, she moved to Kansas City, Mo, raising her family and working as a supervisor at Isle Knit-Rite Mfg. She moved to Asheville, NC in 1972 becoming a member of Berea Baptist Church on Riceville Road where the service will be held by Rev. James Lamb at 4:30 PM Saturday, January 14, 2017.

The family would like to thank the Elizabeth House in Hendersonville, NC for all their help and support.
