Ronnie Wayne “Ron” Parton age 71 passed away July 30, 2017 at his home. He was a native of Black Mountain and had lived in Arkansas then returned to Buncombe County. He was the son of the late Oscar and Hallie Jean Beeler Parton. He was retired from Brisco Company in Swannanoa. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was predeceased by two brothers Cy Parton and Walt Parton.

He is survived by his son Tommy Thompson (Tina) of Tazewell TN. Granddaughter Kristen Mason of Tazewell TN and Great Grandchild Declan Mason also of Tazewell, TN., his brothers Bruce Parton of Lake Lure NC, James Parton, Luther Vantoy Parton and Ed Parton all of Black Mountain, and Ralph Parton of Maynardville TN. His sisters Margaret Damon of Black Mountain, Nellie Smith of Sparta TN and Joyce Parton of Hendersonville.

A celebration of life will 1:00 PM Thursday in the chapel of Penland Family Funeral Home in Swannanoa. Rev. Dr. Jeff Dowdy officiating. Burial will follow at the Western Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 – 1:00 at the funeral home.
