Ruby Elizabeth (Daniels) Edmonds

Ruby Elizabeth Daniels Edmonds, 91, of Swannanoa, died May 11, 2017 at Asheville Health Care Center.

A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Ruby was a daughter of the late Virgil and Edith Price Daniels Bennett. In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Elroy Edmonds who died in 2007.

Ruby was a loving and outgoing person who loved to cook and bake. She also loved to travel, especially to South Carolina and Gatlinburg, TN. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Swannanoa for 74 years.

She is survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A receiving of friends and family will be held 1:00 PM Monday, May 15 at First Baptist Church of Swannanoa, 503 Park St. Swannanoa, NC 28778. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Jeff Dowdy officiating. Concluding services will be held at Piney Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ruby’s memory to the First Baptist Church of Swannanoa’s Building Fund at 503 Park St. Swannanoa, NC  28778.
