Gregory Scott Hamlin

Gregory Scott Hamlin, age 58, of Fletcher, NC, passed away peacefully at home in the early hours of Wednesday, March 13, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Greg was born on March 1, 1966 in Buncombe County, NC to the late James Huey Hamlin and Carolyn Lance Hamlin.

He worked as the Facility Assistant at Veritas Christian Academy in Fletcher. He was a wonderful, and loving son, brother, father, grandfather, partner and friend. He loved his family and enjoyed going fishing and working on his Monte Carlo. All who knew and loved Greg will miss him dearly.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his three beautiful daughters, Kim Bishop and her husband Brandon, of Fletcher, Kristie Tolley and her husband John, of Black Mountain, NC and Nicole Lee and her husband Tony, of Swannanoa, NC;  his partner and companion, Tammy Hutchins of Fletcher; three brothers, Boyce Hamlin and his wife Angel of Rutherfordton, NC, Michael Hamlin and his wife Kelly, of Black Mountain, and Tony Hamlin and his wife AnneMarie, of Asheville, NC; six grandchildren, Jordan Hamlin, Haley Padgett, Ethan Tolley, Tiara Lee, Emily Lee, and Taylor Brigmon; one great-granddaughter, Willow Hamlin; and life-long best friend, Leonard Hensley of Waynesville, NC.

The family will have a private celebration of Greg’s life at a later date.
