David L. Wilson, 54, of Marietta, SC; formerly of Asheville, Polk County, NC, entered into Heaven on Friday, April 27, 2018. Greenville First Nazarene was his church family who he loved and attended regularly. His courage to face and conquer many physical and health challenges inspired so many others. He was a walking testimony of his faith and love in Jesus Christ. His pride was being an electrician for 32 years; with a passion for fishing, hunting, and motorcycle riding. He was adventurous and loved living life to the fullest. That included making friends and memories with the organization, Outdoors Without Limits. David is preceded in death by his father, David; and younger brother, Michael. He is survived by his wife, Maria Bogan Wilson; mother, Joigena Wolfe; son, Christopher; brother, Joey (Carrie); step-son, Joshua; best friend, Calvin Halford; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins whom he loved dearly.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2pm, Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Asheville First Church of the Nazarene. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 1pm-2pm at the church. Pastor Andrew Crimmins will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to help the family with medical expenses would be greatly appreciated and can be sent to Karen Davis at 11 Avondale Circle, Arden, NC 28704. Penland Family Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Wilson Family.
