Harry "Tip" Cushion Sawyer

       Harry (Tip) Sawyer, 98, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the Solace Center. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Chan C. and Blanche Lunsford Sawyer. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Nelson; and brothers Charles and Ray Sawyer. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sara Shope Sawyer; daughter, Madeline Dillingham and husband Dover; granddaughter, Loren Hagearty; grandson, Kyle Dillingham; three great granddaughters; three nieces and two nephews.  
       A memorial service will be held at the Riceville Valley Community Church on Saturday, December 8th at 6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riceville Valley Community Church, 2342 Riceville Road, Asheville, NC 28805. Penland Family Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Sawyer Family.
