To the family of Commander Jerome Smith,
On behalf of the members of the USS BENNINGTON PACT, please accept our condolences on the passing of your loved one. We "thank you" for Jerry's service to God & Country. Gone from us physically but shall be remembered always by those whom he touched in some way or another. Please know that Jerry shall be recognized at our annual memorial wreath laying ceremony in Bennington, VT, on Saturday the 12th of August at our ship's bell monument. As his name is read from a listing of "Those Who Have Gone Before Us"., the actual ship's bell will toll in his memory.
