Jose Del Valle

          Jose Del Valle, age 95, of Swannanoa, NC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the NC State Veterans Home in Black Mountain, with his loving son by his side.
          Mr. Del Valle was born on April 15, 1924 in Puerto Rico, to the late Jose Valle Diaz and Mercedes Del Valle. He was a United States Army Veteran who served his country proudly during World War II. After his military service, he worked as a nursing assistant at the Charles George VA Medical Center. Mr. Del Valle was a true American patriot and was very proud to be a part of the United States military and he loved his country deeply.
          In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death two sons, Jeffrey and Joseph Del Valle; and a sister, Josephina Lienneman. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved girlfriend of over 40  years, Grace Robinson, of Morganton; his son, Michael Del Valle and wife Rebecca, of Franklin, TN; and a grandson, Joseph Del Valle, of Nashville, TN.
          A funeral service with full military honors will be held at 10am, Friday, September 20, 2019 at the Western North Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. Chaplain Jack Taylor will be officiating.
