Patricia Jane (Stewart) Mitchell

Patricia "Pat" Stewart Mitchell, 70, of Candler, passed away February 15, 2017 at J. F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville.

Born July 2, 1946 in Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Paul H. Stewart and Mary Jarvis Stewart. Also preceding her in death is her late husband of 50 years, Charles Mitchell; and son, Stevie Dale Mitchell.

Pat was a graduate of Erwin High School and was a wonderful mother, raising her three children. She also loved to raise and care for Dozer, her bulldog.

Survivors include her daughters, Carrie Mitchell and Rose Mitchell, both of Candler; brother, Dickie Stewart (Anita) of Charlotte; and a niece, Lisa.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, February 18 at Penland Family Funeral Home Chapel in Swannanoa with Rev. Steve Oxner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Committal services will be held at West Memorial Park in Weaverville.
