Rev. Dr. Robert Harold MacPherson

Rev. Dr. Robert Harold MacPherson, 92, of Arden, NC, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Universal Health Care in Fletcher, NC. He was born on February 9, 1925 in Boston, MA to the late Harold S. and Doris Hicks MacPherson. He worked as a minister and was also a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church. He retired from the VA Hospital in Asheville as Chief of Speech and Hearing and was also an active member of the Asheville Community Theatre. Robert is preceded in death by his son, Robert Owen MacPherson who passed away in 2005 and his wife, Ann Marie Haggerty MacPherson who passed on December 29, 2015. Mr. MacPherson is survived by his son, Ralph MacPherson of Fairview; his brother, David MacPherson of Ashland, VA; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
    A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Unitarian Church located at 1 Edwin Place, Asheville, NC 28801. Penland Family Funeral Home is honored to be serving the MacPherson family.
