Roston Meldrim Williamson Jr.

       Roston "Bill" Meldrim Williamson Jr., age 94, of Black Mountain, NC, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Givens Highland Farms. He was born on July 31, 1924 to the late Roston Meldrim Sr. and Bernice McCook Williamson in Bibb County, GA. Bill was the husband of Patricia "Pat" Robinson Williamson; the father of four children; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and the brother of Meldra Williamson Panchelli of Milledgeville, GA. He was United States Air Force Veteran and a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia and Duke University and OB-GYN residency training in Durham, NC. Bill practiced medicine for four years in Homestead, FL, for 20 years in Durham, NC, and 10 years in the Air Force. He and Pat retired to the Boone area and then to Highland Farms in Black Mountain. They became busy volunteers in both communities. 
       A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Penland Family Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Williamson Family.
