Roy Gaylon Moore

     Roy Gaylon Moore, 80, of Swannanoa, passed away April 17, 2018, at Fleshers of Fairview. Roy was born on November 9, 1937 to the late George Winston and Annie Georgia Rector Moore. Also preceding him in death were brothers, Charles Robert Rector, George Richard, Tommy Dale, and Roger Glenn Moore; sister, Adda Lee Odum and special friend and companion, Mary Herron. He is survived by his sister, Marshia Karpusiewicz; sister-in-law, Sandra Moore; and several nieces and nephews. Roy was a veteran of the American Merchant Marines and an avid sports fan of the Carolina Tar Heels and the North Buncombe Blackhawks. Our special thanks to Care Partners Hospice Care and the staff at Fleshers of Fairview for their wonderful care of Roy. 
     In keeping with Roy's wishes, there will be no service. Penland Family Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Moore Family.
