Sarah Gale Wilson

               Sarah "Gale" Wilson, age 75, of the Bill's Creek Community in Lake Lure went to the loving arms of her eternal Father on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. She is the daughter of the late Herman B. Wilson and Carrie Robinson Wilson of Bill's Creek, and they rejoiced to be reunited.

               She spent many long years working at C.P. Clare, later Tyco, in Fairview, NC Bill's Creek Missionary Baptist Church was her loving church home where she served many years as Assistant Sunday School Secretary, a worker in the nursery, operating the ministry for shut-in through the tape ministry as well as "Angel Wings," a prayer team, through which she worked with shut-ins as well. She volunteered with the Community Bible Study in Rutherfordton with great zeal, even dressing as a clown to the entertainment of all. She added her voice to the church choir for all of her teen and adult life. She enjoyed various crafts along with movies and shows on the Hallmark Channel.

               She loved her family members and those who cherish her memory include her sister, Anne Wilson Howell and her husband Ralph of Nashville, NC; brother, Stanley Wilson and his wife Debbie of Lake Lure; and brother, Bruce Wilson and his wife Inez of Hickory, NC. She was a dedicated aunt who spoiled her nieces and nephews, Milton Howell, Karen Howell Wall, Anica Howell Weeks, Derick Wilson, Kenya Wilson Hoffart, Stephanie Wilson Davis, Nicole Wilson Conley, and Adam Wilson. She will also be missed by her great-nieces and great-nephews, along with her dear friend Dorothy Connor as well the loving Johnny and Ellen Warren family who treated her as one of their own. Her new neighbors at Oakwood Village in Rutherfordton will remember her fondly as well.

               A service to celebrate her life will be held at Bills Creek Baptist Church off of Bills Creek Road in Lake Lure, NC, 28746 on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 2:30pm. Visitation with her family will be held before the service from 1pm-2:30pm. Rev. Darold Crawford, Rev. Terrell Dillingham, and Rev. Travis Crocker will be officiating. Interment will follow at Bills Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. 

               In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or Bill's Creek Baptist Church at 1561 Bills Creek Road, Lake Lure, NC, 28746 to honor her memory.
