Thomasina Diane Huffman Byrd, age 53, of Canton, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville. She was born on January 29, 1966 in Marion to the late Jason Huffman and Linda Martin Huffman. Thomasina worked as an LPN for 14 years at the VA Hospital. She enjoyed cooking and was known for always speaking her mind. She loved the little yellow minions from the movie, 'Despicable Me' and also loved giraffes. She even got to kiss one before! But above all else, she loved her family the most.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her boyfriend, Danny Guffey. She is survived by her sons, Jonah Carroll of Canton and Jason Carroll of Marion; her adopted daughter, Cheyenne Carver (Elias) of Candler; her grandmother, Jerolene Roberts Hall of Marion; and her grandson, Virgil Mark Lee Carroll of Marion.
There will be no services held. Penland Family Funeral Home is honored to be caring for her family.
