Arthur Lee Hooper

Arthur Lee Hooper, 69, of Marion, NC, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at UNC Health Blue Ridge in Morganton, NC. He was Born February 22, 1955, in McDowell County, NC, the son of the late Arthur Leroy Hooper and Julia Moore Hooper.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings William Moore Sr., Benny Moore, James M. Moore, and Della H. McKesson. Surviving is his spouse, Virginia Hooper; son, Bishop Shawn Hooper and his spouse, Tonise, of Glen Alpine, NC; siblings, Margaret G. Peterson of Asheville, NC, Roberta H. Long and her spouse, William, of Glen Alpine, NC, Robert Hooper and his spouse, Detra, of Marion, NC, and Walter Hooper of Marion, NC; step-children, Frankie Ervin, Shannon Koon, and Jeffery Tate and his spouse, Monica; grandchildren, Shyra Corpening, Ny'Zil, Ny'Zeri,  Ny'zane Hooper, Zackery Ervin, and Cheyenne Tate; great-grandchild, Kalilah Ervin, aunts, Cora Forney and her spouse, Ralph, and Emma Kate Hooper; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.

 A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 3 p.m., at Mt. Zion AME Church, 75 Zion Rd, Marion, NC 28752.
