Artur “Teddy” Leonidovich Tumash, age 34, of Asheville, NC, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Naples Community Hospital in Naples, FL. He was born on September 17, 1986 in Pinsk, Belarus to Nadia Ostapovich Tumash and Leonid Tumash. He moved to Asheville with his family and graduated from AC Reynolds High School and attended Slavic Revival Fellowship. Artur was active in sports and played football, volleyball, and basketball. He enjoyed singing in the church choir and was involved in the youth activities at church. He worked as a laborer in the construction industry and was known to leave a positive impact on others and he helped build the Fun Depot in Asheville.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Yekaterina Ostapovich; an uncle, Anatoliy Tumash; and a cousin, Ella Tumash. In addition to his parents, Artur is survived by his brother, Ruslan “Russ” Tumash of Asheville; three sisters, Ilona Satterfield and her husband Josiah of Lake Stevens, WA, Angela de Oliveira and her husband Pedro of Asheville, and Jessica Tumash also of Asheville; two nephews, Luca de Oliveira of Asheville and Theodore Satterfield of Lake Stevens, WA; and a niece, Gabriella de Oliveira of Asheville, NC.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Christian Church of Hope, 327 Emma Rd. Asheville, NC, 28806, conducted by Reverend Mike Tikhonov. Burial will follow the service at Green Hills Cemetery, 25 New Leicester Hwy., Asheville, NC 28806.
