Benjamin Grady Spivey, Jr., age 78, of Swannanoa, NC, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville, NC. He was born on July 24, 1943 in Buncombe County, NC to the late Benjamin Grady Spivey, Sr. and Belzie Sims Spivey. Ben was well known in the community having run a Philips 66 Station in his early life until he built his own business in Buckeye Cove. He was retired and like to "piddle" in the automotive field. He was a musician and was a part of the praise team at his church, Fruit of Labor Worship Center in Fairview, NC. He was talented in many ways as he could do carpentry, electrical, and plumbing work but his passion was working on automobiles and going to church.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 39 years, Linda Spivey of Swannanoa, NC; his daughter, Sharon Cox (Jamey) of Concord, NC; and his three grandchildren, Hallie, Annalise and Benjamin Cox, all of Concord, NC.
A celebration of life service for Ben will be held at 3pm, Sunday, September 12, 2021 at the Fruit of Labor Worship Center in Fletcher, NC. The Rev. William Warren and Rev. Norman Halford will be officiating. A reception will be following the service from 4pm - 6pm.
