Bernardino "Bernie" Quintos Marcelo

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bernardino Quintos Marcelo, age 65, on November 29, 2025, due to natural causes.

Bernie was born on May 12th in Ravenna, Ohio, to Josefina and Bernardino Marcelo. He was a man of enduring faith who cherished the beauty of plants, the magic of fantasy worlds, and the simple joy of a great Asian buffet. You could often find him writing, sketching, or turning a serious photo into something goofy.

He is survived by his children, Meghan, Bria (Moni), Cassie, and Dom (Madi); his siblings, Rem (Pete) and Ray (Li); and beloved niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 12th at 10:00 am at the Penland Family Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Bernie's final resting place, Carolina Memorial Sanctuary.
