Betty "Jean" (McIntosh) Burton

Betty “Jean” McIntosh Burton, age 84, of Fairview, NC, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 4, 2021 .

She was born on March 7, 1937,  in Yancey Co., NC to the late Burt McIntosh and Althea Roland McIntosh.

Jean loved her family dearly and was loved by all who knew her. She was someone who loved to laugh and she enjoyed spending time with the Primitive Quartet Singers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Burton; two sons, Michael Eugene and Frank Daniel Burton; three brothers, Ralph, Frank and James McIntosh; and two sisters, Emily Wilson and Lillian “Toot” King.

Jean is survived by her three sons, Dean (Kathy) Burton of Morganton, NC, Matthew (Melissa) Burton of Swannanoa, NC, and Tim (Anita) Burton of Leicester, NC; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and her life long dearest friend, Sue Burrell of Fairview.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 455 Hollywood Rd., Fairview, NC 28730, conducted by Pastor John Burton, Pastor Joel Burton, and Pastor Kellen Griffin.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
