Betty Norine Mack

Betty Norine Mack, 88, of Black Mountain, NC passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Givens Highland Farms in Black Mountain.

Born May 8, 1936 in Ashtabula, OH, she was the daughter of the late Wright and Hazel Mack. She was an alumnus of Marietta College where she received her B.A., Northwestern University where she received her M.A., and Florida Atlantic University where she received her M. Ed. She was employed by Stetson University as a Professor of Speech in the 60’s, then the Center for Group Consoling, and finally with H & R Block before retiring. Betty was active with OLLI on the UNCA campus as a student, teacher, and committee member.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Raymond W. Mack.

Surviving are her loving spouse and partner for 51 years, Carol M. Taylor; nieces, Meredith Mack, Julia Mack (Debbie), and Margaret Hart (Allen); and sister-in-law, Ellen Taylor (Prudence).

 A private service will be held at a later date.
