Betty Louise (Brown) Redmond

Betty Louise Brown Redmond, age 95, passed away peacefully, on Monday, January 29, 2024, at her residence.

Betty was born on July 31, 1928, in Buncombe County, NC to the late Sewell Brown and Violet Johnson Brown. 

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. Betty was retired and enjoyed sewing and making beautiful quilts. She also loved working on puzzle books and word search books. She was witty and had a sweet smile. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James Redmond; and 7 brothers and sisters.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her four daughters, Penny Redmond, Vicky Redmond, and Mary Alice Chambers, all of Asheville, NC, and Delores “Peppy” Gordon, of Fletcher, NC; two sons, Jimmy Redmond and his wife Charlene of Candler, NC and Roger Kent and his wife Frances of Leicester, NC; a brother, Ray Brown, of Tennessee; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Green Hills Cemetery, 25 New Leicester Hwy, Asheville, NC, 28806.
