Billy Eugene Cox

Billy Eugene Cox, age 84, of Asheville, passed  away on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Madison Health and Rehabilitation in Mars Hill, NC.

Mr. Cox was born on July 20, 1936 in Buncombe County to the late Mary Pharm Fox Cox. Mr. Cox served his country proudly in the United States Navy.  After his military service, he worked as a machine operator in the paper industry in Enka. He was a hard worker and a quiet and humble man. He loved animals and always enjoyed having several cats at his home.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Patsy Jane Cox; three brothers, Robert, Tommy, and Raleigh Cox; and two sisters, Lucy Kuykendall and Bessie Hyatt.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his three nephews, Joseph Dennis Kuykendall of Asheville, Robert Dale “Bobby” Kuykendall and his wife Shirley of Weaverville, and Paul Jerald Kuykendall and his wife Eleanor of Candler; and a niece, Judy Gail Baldwin and her husband Ralph of Madison County.

A private burial will take place at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
