Blanch Treadway Walker, 88, of Marshall NC, passed away Tuesday, November 4th at The Greens at Weaverville. Born December 24, 1936, in Madison County NC, she was the daughter of the late Willie Wade Treadway and Polly Gentry Treadway. Blanch retired from NCI.
She was preceded in death by husband Carl Walker; daughter Nancy Ann Treadway; grandson Travis Walker; sisters, Daisy Cook, Elizabeth Barnes, and Lucille Redding; brothers Willie Treadway, Joseph Treadway, Jack Treadway, Grover Treadway, and John Treadway. She is survived by daughter Brenda Rathbone (Rick Corn); sons Steve Walker (Renée) and Joe Walker (Doris); grandchildren Kaylyn Chandler (Adam), Crystal Walker (Kenny Henson), Stephanie Luther (Alex), Christian Walker (Tiffany), Jennifer Gentry (Scott), Andy Cody, and Curtis Cody; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and sisters Evelyn Walker and Shirley Treadway.
A special thanks to the staff at the Greens and Compassionate Care for the love, care, and kindness they provided to Blanch and her family. A special thanks to her niece Teka Foster who made many long-distance trips to visit Carl & Blanch and Joyce Revis.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Randy Burrell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Greens (Memory Care Unit) and Compassionate Care of Yancey Co. would be appreciated.
