Bruce Berkeley Tannett

Bruce Berkeley Tannett, age 89, of Black Mountain, NC passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Four Seasons Hospice Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC.

Bruce was born on July 19, 1931 in Teaneck, NJ to the late James Spears Tannett and Lillian Berkeley Tannett.

He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War and then he  worked as an engineer at Kearfott until he retired.

Bruce was a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed being outdoors, going fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed good cooking and could never pass up one of his wife’s delicious homemade meals. His family will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gordon Spears Tannett.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years, Sarah Tate Tannett; two daughters, Maria Tannett of Swannanoa and Laura Tannett of Concord, NC; one grandson, Billy Ricketts, III of Black Mtn.; and one great-grandson.

A memorial service will be announced by the family at a later date.
