Carl Fred Walker, 91, of Marshall NC, passed away Friday, November 18th at the Greens in Weaverville.
Born June 19, 1931, in Madison County NC, he was the son of the late David Franklin and Ollie Buckner Walker. Carl was a carpenter, block mason and farmer. He enjoyed time working with his nephew (deceased) Harold Scott.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by sisters, Velma Reems, Faye Scott, and Edna Scott; brother Ralph Walker; daughter Nancy Cody; and grandson Travis Walker.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Blanch Treadway Walker; daughter Brenda Rathbone (Rick); sons Steve Walker (Renée) and Joe Walker (Doris); grandchildren Kaylyn Chandler, Crystal Walker, Stephanie Walker, Christian Walker, Jennifer Gentry, Andy Cody, and Curtis Cody; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to the staff at the Greens and Compassionate Care for the love, care, and kindness they provided to Carl and family.
A special thanks to his niece Teka Foster who made many long-distance trips to visit Carl & Blanch.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on November 21, 2022, at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Randy Burrell and Reverend Bryan Shetley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Greens and Compassionate Care of Yancey Co. would be appreciated.
