Carolyn Marcenia (Brown) Harwood

      Carolyn Marcenia Brown Harwood, age 84, of Leicester, NC, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at her home. She was born on November 9, 1935 in Buncombe County to the late Hubert Romanza Brown and Carolyn Elizabeth Black. Carolyn worked as a purchasing agent for TDP Electronics Manufacturing Company and married her late husband of 41 years, Ralph L. Harwood, who passed away in 1996. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Asheville. Along with her parents and beloved husband, Carolyn was also preceded in death by a grandson, Aaron Teague, who passed away in 2011. She is survived by her daughters, Carol Denise Harwood Teague (Coleman) of Leicester, NC and Cynthia Kay Harwood Gosselin (Daniel) of Stanley, NC; her brother, Sam Brown (Elaine) of Taylors, SC; her sisters, Betty Buckner of Fairview, NC, Janice Penland of Swannanoa and Joyce Moore of Clarksville, TN; her three grandchildren, Jason Teague (Mary) of Clyde, NC, Trevor Gosselin (Heather) of Gastonia, NC and Quentin Gosselin (Caitlin) of Charlotte, NC; and her four great grandchildren, Hannah, Austin, Maggie and Rhett.

            A funeral service will be held at 11am, Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Freedom Baptist Church in Asheville. Rev. Keith Hutchinson will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends at 10am at the church. Burial will follow the service at Gashes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Asheville. The pallbearers will be Trevor Gosselin, John Wilson, Quentin Gosselin, Bill Smith, Anthony Penland and Leslie Penland.
