Cecil William Hill Jr.

         Cecil William Hill Jr., age 94, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020 at Fleshers Fairview Health & Retirement Center. He was born July 31, 1925 in Buncombe County to the late Cecil W. Hill Sr. and Nannie Wright Hill. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister Rachel Buckner, and brothers Harvey, Edward, Junior (“JC”), Dewey, Richard, Max, Robert (“Doc”), Arnold, and Kenneth Hill. Cecil is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Alma Rash Hill; his sons and their wives Ted and Dorothy Hill, Ron and Mary Hill, Larry and Angela Hill; brother Chester Hill of Asheville; grandchildren Brian (Carrie), Shane (Angie), and Lauren Hill; great grandchildren Jessica Hill Goodwin (Mike), Tyler, Cameron, Ashley, Madison, and Gabrielle “Gabby” Hill; and great-great grandchildren Rory and Willow Goodwin. Cecil worked as a supervisor at Precision Products Performance Center in Arden, NC. He was a loving husband and family man, an avid gardener, and loved to fish at the Outer Banks, NC. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, kindness, and love for animals.

          A memorial service will be held at 2pm, Saturday, March 7th at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Fairview, NC. The family will be receiving friends an hour before the service. Rev. Tommy Lanning will be officiating. Penland Family Funeral home is honored to be caring for the Hill Family.
