Charles Henry House

     It is with great sadness that the family of Charles “Henry” House announce his passing. Henry died peacefully at the John F Keever Jr. Solace Center in Asheville on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the age of 79. 
     Henry was born on December 13, 1938, to the late Edward and Katherine (Sherlin) House, and was raised in Mills River. He was self-employed in the construction industry for over 40 years. Henry took great pride in his work, was an avid collector of antique cars, and loved to talk and share stories about both. 
     Henry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Nancy “Diana” (Searcy) House; three daughters, Jacqueline House of Asheville, Sherry Manry (Kenny) of Campobello, and Tonia House of St. Augustine; grandsons Justin Manry, Charles and Chad Sherlin; granddaughter Kristi House; step-granddaughter Tiffany Culbertson (Adam); great-grandchildren Anabelle Sherlin, Brayton, Bowen and Baxley Culbertson; brothers Thomas and Roger; and sisters Judy Neighbors, Nancy Thomas, and Eleanor Thomas. He was greeted at the gates of heaven by his parents; his brothers Edward, Lawrence and Ben; sisters Sara Jones and Peggy Williams; and step-grandson Lance Manry.
     In honoring Henry’s requests, no services will be held. Announcements for a memorial will be made at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the John F Keever Jr Solace Center or the charity of your choice in Henry’s name.
