Charles Elmer Packett, Jr.

Charles Elmer Packett, Jr., age 80, of Marion, NC, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.

Charles was born on December 12, 1942, in McDowell County to the late Charles Elmer Packett, Sr. and Dorothy Bost Packett.

He was retired and had worked as a car salesman. Charles also served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.

Charles was a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He had a good sense of humor and enjoyed going fishing on his boat. He loved his family dearly and they will miss him deeply.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Janie Packett; and an infant sister, Linda Packett.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his three sons, Chuck (Tesha) Packett of Marion, NC, Mike (Cristy) Packett of Forest City, NC, and Gregg Packett of Marion, NC; two daughters, Denise (Luigi) Packett-Amabile of North Port, FL, and Karie Packett of Marion, NC; two brothers, Tim (Rosie) Packett of Destin, FL, and Keith (Kim) Packett of Marion, NC; a sister, Sharon (Ronnie) Nodine of Old Fort, NC; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
