Charles Storm Obituary

            Charles Storm, age 85, of Swannanoa, NC, passed away on Friday, June 25, 2021. He was born on August 9, 1935 in Camden, NJ to the late Herbert Storm and Flory Reed Storm. Charles served his country proudly in the United States Army and then made a living as a glazier and cutter making mirror doors for Berkowitz Glass & Mirror in Westville, NJ. He was also a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Swannanoa.

            Charles was a very loving husband and an elder in the Swannanoa congregation. He was a kind and gentle soul and loved everyone. He enjoyed growing his flower garden and was also an artist and enjoyed drawing. His favorite pastime was riding his mountain bike. He enjoyed riding all over these beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains for many years. Charles was always known for having a sweet tooth, especially for chocolate; with his favorite being chocolate chip cookies.

            Along with his parents, Charles is also preceded in death by his sister, Bernice Storm. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 62 years and 7 months; Dorothy Virginia "Ginny" Storm; and his cousins, Melody Milia (Jerry) of Virginia and Greg Milia of Austin, TX, and Sarah and Rachel Milia, both of Virginia.

            A private family celebration of life will be held at 3pm, Saturday, July 10, 2021 with Elder Jimmy Read officiating. Penland Family Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Storm Family and assisting with arrangements.
