Chloe Ella Higgins Mello, age 65, of Candler, NC passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021, at her residence. She was born on April 12, 1956 in Yancey County, NC to Zulene English Higgins and the late Ned Higgins. She was a Christian lady and worked as an in-home healthcare giver until she suffered from a stroke and had to retire. Chloe was a strong woman, and she endured some hardships, but with the love and support of her family she managed well. She loved her family dearly and her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life.
In addition to her father, Chloe was preceded in death by a brother, Ned Higgins, Jr. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Michael Mello; her mother, Zulene Higgins Gardner of Burnsville; her son, James Revis of Candler; her daughter, Lindsey (Jesse) Dalton of Old Fort; three sisters, Linda Gardner of Burnsville, Rhonda Cox of Morganton, and Jean Barnes of Burnsville; two brothers, Raymond (Tracy) Higgins and Allen (Barbara) Gardner, both of Burnsville; and five grandchildren.
A celebration of Chloe’s life will be held at 2pm, Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Hillside Community Center located at 39 Hillside Street, Weaverville, NC 28787.
