Mr. Christopher Alonzo Millisiplus aka “Greek”, age 74, of Edneyville, NC, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, SC.
Mr. Millisiplus was born on March 23, 1946 in Syracuse, NY, to the late Edna Mae Milsap Alexander.
He started out as a stand up comedian and then he started entering tough man competitions which soon led him to become a professional wrestler and owner of Grand Star Championship Wrestling. He was known as “Greek”, “Masked Maniac” and “Gorgeous Golden Greek”. He has wrestled all over the United States and most notably at Madison Square Garden in NY, NY.
Mr. Millisiplus cared more about others than he did himself. He loved his wrestling family more than anything and he was the one who created the Food for Fairview food drive in the 1990’s to help families in need. He had a great sense of humor and loved to joke around with his friends and family. His son Chris says,” if he can be half the man, father, friend and wrestler his dad was, then he’d consider himself a success”.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Chris Edwards aka “The Greek Wolverine” and his girlfriend, Kaitlyn Shelton of Gerton, NC; a host of other relatives; and his beloved wrestling family.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the chapel of Penland Family Funeral Home at 125 South Avenue, Swannanoa, NC 28778.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at 11:00 AM, at Piney Mountain United Methodist Church Cemetery, 14 Piney Mountain Church Rd., Candler, NC 28715, conducted by Chris Edwards.
Penland Family Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the Millisiplus family with arrangements.
