Clarence “Bobby” Buckner, born March 22, 1933, went to be with our heavenly father on May 6, 2025, at his home in Asheville, NC. Bobby was a lifelong resident of Asheville and loved calling the Mountains “Home.”
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Frances “Irene” Langford Buckner. Bobby was a lifelong patriot and loved his country. Always a soldier at heart, he gave himself at the young age of 18 to serve our great nation. He served in the 22nd US Army Airborne and was active during the Korean War. He continued his service across the US and Europe before returning home to start his family. He is a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle.
He is survived by three children: Danny Buckner (Linda), Rick Buckner (Laura), and Vicki Buckner of Asheville. He was the grandfather of Amanda Berry (Wesley) of Longmont, CO, and Jacqueline Lovik (Daniel) of Asheville, NC. Bobby adored his two great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Miles.
