Daniel Lynn Smith

            Daniel Lynn Smith, age 33 of Greenville, SC, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at his residence. He was born on February 27, 1988, in Greenville, SC to Gary and Dee Smith. He was of the Baptist faith and a carpenter for Premium Southern Properties.

            He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William Smith; maternal grandfather, Barry Deese; maternal grandmother Pat Deese; and a cousin, Justin Hodges.

            Daniel was a very passionate and affectionate man. He loved fiercely and without reservation. He also had a wonderful sense of humor and always made you laugh. He was smart and a hard worker too. He never met a stranger, and he was a cherished  friend to have. He enjoyed playing golf and he also loved his country. Daniel was a very patriotic person, and he would always say “thank you” the veterans he would meet.

            In addition to his parents, Gary and Dee Smith, he leaves behind the love of his life, his beautiful bride, Meghan; his “ forever after all”, his only son, Justin; a brother, Keith (Candy) Smith of Spartanburg, SC; paternal grandmother, Glennis Griner of Spartanburg; a nephew, Julius Smith of Spartanburg; two nieces, Kylie and Makayla Smith , both of Spartanburg; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

            A memorial service will be held at 7pm, Friday, October 22, 2021 at Greer City Park Pavilion, 301 E. Poinsett Street, Greer, SC 29651. Penland Family Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the Smith family with arrangements.
