Darin Collins Obituary

           Darin Lewis Collins, age 55, of Asheville, NC passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021, at Mission Hospital. He was born on February 5, 1966, in Buncombe County, NC to the late Charles Lewis Collins and Lydia Novella Buckner Collins. Darin graduated from Erwin High School and attended New Liberty Church in Leicester. He worked in the maintenance department at University of North Carolina Asheville for over 15 years. Darin loved people and he never met a stranger.  He enjoyed online gaming and watching sports on the tv, and his favorite sport was wrestling. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

            In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, DeWayne Collins. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 30 years, Sandra Wilson Collins; three sons, Travis (Kelsey) Collins of Fairview, Trent and Terrance Collins of Leicester; a step-daughter, Connie (Larry) Gault of Fairview; a brother, Doug (Jackie) Collins of Leicester, NC; two sisters, Darlene (Sammy) Dover and Donna (Kenny) Shipman, both of Leicester; and four grandsons, Hunter Gault, Sawyer, Marshall and Finley Collins, all of Fairview, NC.

            A memorial service will be held at 6pm, Friday, September 10, 2021 at New Liberty Church in Asheville, NC.
