Darrell Lee Bridges

Darrell Lee Bridges, age 63, of Woodstock GA, formerly of  Swannanoa NC, left this earth on Friday, December 8th, 2023, to join his Heavenly Father.

Darrell was born on March 28, 1960, in Asheville, NC to Wyona Howie Bridges and the late Carl Kenneth Bridges.

He was a graduate of A. C. Reynolds High School and a member of the varsity football and wrestling teams. A Tar Heel fanatic and sports advocate, he will be remembered for his quick wit and great sense of humor.

 Darrell was adored by his family, friends, and many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Kenneth Bridges.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Wyona Howie Bridges, of Swannanoa NC; his twin sister, Debra Bridges Jarzyna (David),  of Black Mountain NC, and sister Shannon Bridges, Dalton GA; brothers Mitchell Bridges and Travis Bridges (Heather), Woodstock GA.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place at Bee Tree Missionary Baptist Church, 24 Long Branch Rd, Swannanoa NC, on December 16th, 2023 at 3:00 PM officiated by Reverend Dr. Jeff Dowdy. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 PM. A private burial will take place at a later date.
