David Fain Obituary

            David Michael Fain, age 71, of Leicester, NC, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. He was born on August 1, 1949 in Logan, WV to the late John Richard Fain and Lilly May Minters Fain. David worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He loved his family dearly and thoroughly enjoyed fishing and hunting in his spare time. Along with his parents, David was also preceded in death by his brothers, George, Carl and James Fain; and a sister, Sarah Padgent.

            Those left behind to cherish David's memory is his beloved wife of 30 years, June Kilpatrick Fain of Leicester; his daughters, Betty Victoria Story of Auburndale, FL and Carolyn Yates of Lakeland, FL; his sisters, Ann May Everett of Cocoa, FL, Deloris Sorbille (Tony) of OH, Peggy Branstetter of Black Mountain, NC, Barbara Bowling (Jim) of Tampa, FL and Marie Adkins (Ronnie) of Leicester; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his stepdaughter Veronica Thompson (Allen Pressley) and stepson, Bill Thompson, both of Swannanoa, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

            A memorial service will be held at 2pm, Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Penland Family Funeral Home.
