David Morgan Shaver age 70 passed away on October 26th 2023 at his Swannanoa NC home in Hospice care. He was born on November 3rd 1952 in Andrews NC, the fourth of five children to the late Robert Luther Shaver and Jane Yerby Shaver.
He grew up in Raleigh NC and Greensboro NC. After graduating from Grimsley High school he attended Appalachian State University where he held records with the Appalachian swim team and graduated with a BA in Industrial Arts. He then moved back to Greensboro, met and later married Elizabeth Gold Shaver of Rutherfordton NC. After living for a time in Colorado Springs CO, they returned to their eastern roots settling in Swannanoa NC and were together 42 years. David spent his entire adult life in the Shaver tradition of the carpentry trade. He was an immense woodworking artist and math whiz that made him among the finest of builders.
David is preceded in death by his parents, a brother James Calvin Shaver of Amelia VA, and his best friend Buffalo the Dog. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Shaver of Swannanoa NC, a sister Jean Karpen (Joe) of Weaverville NC, a sister Kathy Shaver of Asheville NC, one brother Larry Shaver (Beth) of Greensboro NC, sister-in-law Beverly Shaver of Blackstone VA, sister-in-law Patsy Cram (Bob) of Indianapolis IN, nephews Jaycee Shaver, Luke Shaver, Robby Shaver, and nieces April Easter, and Carrie Murdoch.

A committal service and reception will be held at Saint Francis Episcopal Church in Rutherfordton NC on April 13, 2024 at 1 pm.
