Deborah Elizabeth Helton, age 70, of Black Mountain, NC passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023 at the Black Mountain Neuro Medical Treatment Center in Black Mountain.
Deborah was born on April 14, 1953, in Buncombe Co., NC to the late George Helton and Elizabeth Dooley Helton.
She was a kind- hearted lady who smiled with her eyes. She loved to sing and had a wonderful laugh. Deborah was always happy and she loved to make others happy too. She enjoyed going out for walks, eating McDonald’s hamburgers and cookies, and drinking Coca-Cola’s. She had a lot of love in her heart as well as loving family and friends who adored her.
In addition to her parents, Deborah was preceded in death by two brothers, George “Bryant” Helton and William “Billy” Helton.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her brother Roy Helton and his wife Loretta of Queen Creek, AZ; sister-in-law, Glenda Helton of Swannanoa, NC; two nephews, Matthew Helton of Asheville, NC and Marc Hughes and his wife Melanie of Sacramento, CA; four nieces, Kim Gilliland and her husband Steve of Swannanoa, NC, Wendy Knihnicki and her husband Terry of Asheville, NC, Elizabeth Helton of Santa Barbara, CA, and Kristen Helton of Phoenix, AZ; five great-nephews; and seven great-nieces.
The family would like to express a very special “thank you” to the amazing and loving staff who became Deborah’s family at the Black Mountain Neuro Medical Treatment Center for the special care and love they gave Deborah who they lovingly nicknamed “Doodle”.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Pisgah View Memorial Park, 1529 Smokey Park Hwy., Candler, NC, 28715 with Chaplain Lynn Webster officiating.
