Diana Lynn Angel Bacon, 71, of Fairview went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at the CarePartners Solace Center in Asheville. Born August 17, 1950, in Erwin, TN, she was the daughter of the late Glen and Lois Angel. Both her and her husband, Evan, helped with AFL care through Universal Mental Health for over 20 years. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling on leagues with her friends and sons through the years. To say that she enjoyed baking was an understatement. To her it was an art in which she had mastered with a photo album of her cakes and smiling faces to consume them. She was devout in her Christian faith and cherished her family. Diana never knew a stranger and never held a grudge. Surviving are her spouse of 22 years, Evan M. Bacon, Jr.; children: James Hart and his spouse, Dee, of Fairview, Nicky Hart and his spouse, Tammy, of Marion, Derek Hart and his spouse, Michele, of Black Mountain, and Brandon Hart and his spouse, Josie, of Fairview; brother, Jerry Angel and his spouse, Debbie, of Arden; best friend/sister, Carolyn Andrick of Asheville; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 nieces, a nephew, and several cousins. A funeral will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 20, 2022, in the chapel of Penland Family Funeral Home in Swannanoa with the Rev. Sammy Harris officiating. The family will receive friends starting an hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Cane Creek Cemetery in Fairview. The family is requesting that facial covering be worn at the funeral.
